FLxDeep is a six-partner initiative led by Finland Futures Research Centre at Turku School of Economics, University of Turku in cooperation with futures literacy experts at UNESCO. It is funded by EIT Climate KIC and aims to co-create and implement processes that introduce, develop and actively apply the capability called futures literacy to support climate-related social, business, technological innovation, and systems' transformation.
Its work targets three out of eight EIT Climate KIC Deep Demonstrations
Applying participatory action research approaches and co-creation techniques, FLxDeep will generate, document, and share stories of impact and best practices for developing futures literacy for whole system transformations. These insights will feed into learning resources for use by all of EIT Climate KIC partners and wider society, and generate business models for providing futures literacy capacity-building services that support climate action.

FFRC is a University department offering doctoral and master’s degrees in Futures Studies and conducts research that scientifically advances the field. It is home to the UNESCO Chair in Learning for Transformation and Planetary Living, which is part of the Global Futures Literacy Network.
Ponts Business School (France)
This world leading business school emphasizes sustainability and responsibility. It is advancing practices that enable businesses to develop futures literacy.
The Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) FORTH-PRAXI (Greece)
FORTH is one of the largest research centers in Greece. PRAXI Network is the technology transfer unit of FORTH. FORTH-PRAXI implements foresight and futures literacy processes factoring in intercultural and social dynamics to support transformational innovation. It hosts the UNESCO Chair on Futures Research.
Hanze University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands)
Hanze University of Applied Sciences is home of the UNESCO Chair in Futures Literacy and global leaders in running training and educational programs in Futures Literacy. Widely recognized as the top Futures Literacy educators in the world.
4CF (Poland)
A private strategic foresight firm based in Poland, 4CF is a leading contributor to the meta-design of the UNESCO Futures Literacy Lab methodology. 4CF supports companies and institutions around the world in reaching their goals by helping them ‘surf the future‘ and take advantage of emerging opportunities.
Łukasiewicz Research Network – The Institute for Sustainable Technologies (Poland)
Institute for Sustainable Technologies in Radom is part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network which connects over 30 research institutes in Poland. It conducts studies in the areas of support for innovation, organizational and system transformations, as well as technology transfer and economic development. In the area of foresight it executes research projects concerning the development and application of Futures Studies and foresight methods in individual, organizational and social dimension.
UNESCO Futures Literacy Project
UNESCO promotes the growth of Futures Literacy around the world by co-designing and running prototype processes to enable people to apply this capability. In over 35 countries, these experiments have contributed to revealing how imagined futures frame topics of local concern. The UNESCO Global Futures Literacy Network, involving 20 UNESCO Chairs in Futures Studies and Anticipation, links cutting-edge Futures Literacy experts.
